If you are a fan of Wind in the Willows, Watership Down, or The Green Ember, you will find yourself right at home with Brightwing Tales. It is an enchanting story (if I do say so myself) about me, my adventurous children, and my beloved friends. Well, it’s mostly about Mr. Mole because he gets the story moving right from the start.
Mole did not set out to find adventure, of course, it found him most inconveniently while he was smoking his pipe by the fire. Which is exactly what any self-respecting mole ought to do on a cold winter night.
When he set out for Rabbit’s house, he had no idea it was the beginning of an unforgettable story. He certainly did not expect to get lost. Nor did he expect to face Midnight, the bloodthirsty dog. But that's how most good stories begin. Unexpectedly.
Because you are conscientious, you’ll be happy to know that it’s a story of love and loss, of failure and redemption. It’s a book full of hope (and we all need more hope these days). But it also has its share of scary moments in which little characters must face the darkness with courage and gratitude.
